Easy Daisy Crochet Pattern

Here are the easy instructions for a daisy crochet pattern. I give you step-by-step photos to show exactly how to do it. If you are a beginner, I have included video tutorials of the basic steps so you can make a crocheted daisy with ease.

How to Use a Crocheted Daisy

These crocheted daisies are so easy to make, you will probably want to make more than one! But what should you do with your pretty flowers? Here are some ideas:

Wear as a brooch
Sew onto purse
Attach to a hat
Wear as a necklace
Use as a coaster
Applique to sweater or jeans
Christmas ornaments

These daisies are similar to our crochet flowers, but the daisies have solid petals instead of open loop petals. You can use them both in the same ways.

How to Crochet a Daisy Flower

Supplies

Crochet hook – 3.5 mm
Yellow and White Yarn (either light or medium light weight)
Scissors
Tapestry Needle

Directions

Step 1

Using the yellow yarn, start with a slip knot and then do 5 chain stitches.

Step 2

Make a ring with the 5 chain stitches by working a slip stitch through the first chain (the slip knot).

Step 3

Work a SC (Single Crochet) through the ring.

Step 4

Work a total of 12 SC through the ring. Work a slip stitch through the first SC after working the 12^th SC.

Pull out a few inches of the yellow yarn and then cut the yarn.

Step 5

Now, with the white yarn, make a slip knot. Pull the slip knot through any chain (top chain of the yellow SC).

Step 6

Work 7 chain stitches.

Step 7

Keeping the hook on the 7^th chain, skip the 6^th chain, and then insert the hook into the 5^th chain.

Step 8

Work a SC through the 5^th chain.

Step 9

Work a HDC (Half Double Crochet) through the next chain.

Work a double crochet (DC) into the next chain.

Step 11

Work another DC into the next chain.

Step 12

Work a HDC into the next chain and a SC into the next chain, which should be the last chain stitch of the petal base.

Step 13

Work a ST (Slip Stitch) into the next chain of the ring (yellow ring).

Step 14

In the same way, crochet the next petal.

Continue to crochet petals (there should be a total of 12 petals) until your hook reaches the first petal. Finish the crochet with a slip stitch and then pull out a few inches of the yarn.

Step 15

Cut off the yarn from the bundle (leaving a few inches extra). Thread a tapestry needle (one with a big eye to accommodate the thick yarn) on the open end of the yarn and work a running stitch on the backside of the daisy pattern.
