This rustic pumpkin craft can be done with regular sized cutting boards or mini cutting boards. Choose a size that works best for you.
How to Make a Cutting Board Pumpkin
Supplies
- Wood Cutting Board (I used these mini wooden cutting boards)
- Orange and Brown Acrylic Craft Paint (I used Apple Barrel paint in Pumpkin and Melted Chocolate)
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
- Rafia
- 2 Faux Leaves
- Hot Glue Gun
Directions
Paint the entire base of the cutting board orange. Allow to dry and apply a second coat, if needed.
Now paint the handle brown.
Using a dry paint brush, add a little bit of brown paint to the paint brush and lightly dry brush brown spots over the orange paint. Allow to dry.
Cut a few pieces of rafia about 10-12 inches in length. Tie them around the handle or “stem” of the pumpkin with a knot or bow.
Hot glue the stems of the faux leaves above the raffia. Add a drop of glue for each leaf, pressing down to secure it.
Layer two to three leaves on top of each other for the best look.
To display, just prop the cutting board against a wall or shelf. Alternatively, you could add a hook to the back or hang the pumpkin on the hole in the cutting board handle, if there is one.
