Free Printable Christmas Popcorn Tags

If you are looking for a quick, easy and memorable present for a Christmas gift exchange, you can’t go wrong with popcorn jars! They are cheap gifts in a jar to make, especially when you use our free printable Christmas popcorn tags to make the jar look pretty!

This is the perfect food gift because popcorn is naturally low-calorie, filling and healthy. Unlike most other food gifts given during the holiday season.

These popcorn jars are the perfect gift for people you don’t know well and need to give a present to, such as:

  • Mail delivery, postage service and package delivery people, including UPS, FedEX and Amazon Prime
  • Secret Santa gift exchange
  • White Elephant gifts
  • Neighbors
  • Teachers
  • Hair Dresser
  • Coaches
  • Day Care workers
  • Co-workers
  • Church staff

Jars come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so you can make this gift as big or as small as you would like.

If you want to make a larger gift, place one of these jars into a gift basket. Then add movie-night accessories, such as popcorn seasonings, microwave popcorn popper, bowls, a DVD, etc.

Helpful Tips

  • If you don’t have a mason jar or canning jar, use any type of clear, glass jar.
  • You can reuse glass jars as long as you clean them thoroughly. Spaghetti sauce and soup jars are some of the best choices.
  • Do not use microwave popcorn in a bag to pour into a jar.
  • If you wanted to give microwave popcorn instead, you could add this popcorn gift tag to a single popcorn bag or a box of popcorn bags.
  • This free printable sheet of Christmas popcorn gift tags will make four labels.
  • Consider adding some popcorn-making instructions on a recipe card or piece of paper with your gift. Or write on the top of the mason jar. Many people don’t know how to make popcorn if it’s not in the microwave!

A great thing about these popcorn gift jars is that they will last a long time in storage. Unlike cookies and homemade candies, the recipient won’t feel that they have to eat it before New Years!

A bonus is that the canning jar can be reused, so it is really two gifts in one!

I personally like Bob’s Red Mill white popcorn kernels, but you can buy any loose popcorn kernels. I’d like to try this Amish Country baby kernel popcorn that has amazing reviews!

Instructions

Fill a clean jar with popcorn kernels up to the top. Place the lid on the jar and seal tightly.

Print the free printable popcorn gift tags. A heavy paper, such as cardstock, works the best, but you can print on white printer paper, too.

Cut out the gift gag.

Punch a hole in the corner with a hole puncher. If you don’t have a hole puncher, you could carefully punch a whole in the corner with a pair of scissors.

Thread a long piece of twine through the hole on the gift tag and tie to the lid or neck of the jar, depending on the type of jar you are using.

To make the jar pretty, wrap the twine around the lid several times, too, and tie in a knot to secure.
