Foam Dice Snowman (Dollar Tree DIY)

This cute foam dice snowman is so easy to make with Dollar Tree supplies. Customize the snowmen with different colors to make a snowman family with this winter craft.

DIY Foam Dice Snowman

Supplies

  • 3 Foam Dice
  • Acrylic Craft Paint (White and Pink)
  • Chenille Stem
  • 2 Pom Poms
  • Craft Felt Sheet (Orange and Lagoon Blue)
  • 5 Small Black Buttons
  • Paintbrush
  • Hot Glue Gun or Craft Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil with a New Eraser
  • Black Permanent Marker

Directions

Step 1

Paint the foam dice with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if needed.

You will need at least two coats of paint.

Step 2

Glue the three foam dice together in a stack.

We glued the dice a little off center and off set for a more natural appearance, rather than being straight up and down.

Step 3

Cut a triangle from orange craft felt.

Cut a one inch by twelve inch rectangle from the lagoon blue craft felt.

Glue two small button eyes and the carrot nose on the snowman’s face.

Tie the felt scarf around the snowman’s neck. Then fringe the ends with scissors by cutting small slits on the ends.

Glue the remaining three buttons to the front of the snowman.

Step 4

Cut a 6″ piece of the chenille stem. Bend the stem into a “U” shape and glue to either side of the snowman’s head.

Step 5

Create the cheek by dipping a new pencil eraser into pink acrylic craft paint and stamping on the face. Alternatively, you can paint a pink circle on the cheek without using a pencil eraser.

To finish draw on a smile with a permanent black marker from below the nose to the pink cheek.

Helpful Tips

  • This craft uses two packages of foam dice.
  • Orange craft foam or orange card stock can be used instead of felt.
  • Customize snowman with different colors of scarf, pom poms and chenille stems. Make a snowman family that all look different by changing the colors.
  • Wiggle eyes can be used instead of black buttons on the face.
