DIY Penguin Bookmark Craft
Materials
- Free Penguin Bookmark Pattern
- Colored craft paper (black, white, orange, yellow, pink, red)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Sharpies or Markers (black and pink)
You can use the same craft papers and supplies to make these Valentine Gnome Bookmarks, too!
Directions
Step 1
Download, print and cut out the free penguin pattern. Trace the pattern on the corresponding colors. These are the paper colors we used:
- Penguin Base and 2 Arms: Black
- Penguin Body and Face: White
- Penguin Feet (2): Orange
- Beak: Yellow
- Heart: Red or Orange
Cut out all of the pattern pieces.
Step 2
Glue the white part of the body onto the black body base.
Step 3
Glue the feet cutouts along the bottom of the white body cutout.
Step 4
Add a straight line of glue along the straight edge of a penguin arm. Glue the edge to the black part of the body base. Do not glue down any other part of the arm.
Repeat the same process on the other side with the second penguin arm.
Step 5
Add a drop of glue on either side of the heart cut out along the edge.
Place the glued part of the heart cutout under a wing cutout; keep the other side of the heart open.
Step 6
Use a black sharpie to draw the eyes on the penguin in the two curved arches area.
Then use a pink marker to draw on a cheek circle on either side of the face underneath the eyes.
Step 7
Glue the beak cutout between the eyes.
Step 8
To use this paper craft penguin as a bookmark, simply insert a paper sheet under the wings and heart.
