DIY Craft Stick Love Sign
All supplies, other than the paint, were purchased at the Dollar Tree.
Supplies
- 28 Jumbo Craft Sticks
- 6 Foam Roses
- Heart Grapevine Wreath
- Pink Gingham Ribbon
- 5 Tumbling Tower Game Pieces
- Thin Jute Twine
- Hot Glue Gun (Low Temp Works Best) or Craft Glue
- Acrylic Craft Paint (White and Dark Brown)
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
Directions
Step 1
To create the sign base, line up 18 jumbo craft sticks side by side on your work surface.
Glue three jumbo craft sticks across the top and bottom width of the sign.
Step 2
Paint the front of the sign with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if needed.
Distress the sign by wiping on watered down dark brown acrylic craft paint across the front of the sign in random strokes.
Step 3
Cut two jumbo craft sticks with scissors and glue together to create the letter “L”.
Glue foam roses to the letter “L.”
Step 4
Use a mini heart grapevine wreath to create the letter “O”. Tie thin jute twine in a bow and glue to the wreath.
Step 5
Cut two jumbo craft sticks with scissors and glue together to create the letter “V”.
Glue pink gingham ribbon to the letter “V” and fold the cut edges over the top of the sticks to the back to secure. Glue them down in the back.
Step 6
Lay out five of the tumbling tower wooden game pieces on your work surface in the shape of the letter “E”.
Using the photo as your guide, attach the pieces together with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Step 7
Starting with the letters “L” and “E” glue them to the craft stick sign on the left and right sides, making sure they are positioned evenly with enough room in between to put the “V” and “O” later on.
Then glue the letter “V” next to the “E” and then glue the mini heart wreath letter “O” to complete the word LOVE.
Step 8
Cut an 18” length of jute twine.
Flip the sign over and glue the ends of the twine to top left and right-hand sides.
