If you have an essential oil fragrance that calms you during anxiety or stress, this DIY essential oil bead bracelet is perfect to wear during the day.
Our easy essential oil diffuser bracelet with lava beads allows you to add whatever essential oil you prefer to a DIY bracelet. The porous lava beads hold onto the scent, making it easy to inhale the fragrance whenever you need during the day.
This is a great craft to make to sell at craft fairs, online shops or fundraisers. It only takes 10 minutes to make one of these bracelets!
A handmade bracelet is among the most popular crafts for teens and tweens!
Our bracelet has three beads, but you can make the bracelet with fewer or more beads.
This craft uses the same hemp cord that we used in our DIY Wish Bracelet so you can easily make both.
How to Make an Essential Oil Bracelet with Lava Beads
Supplies
- Hemp Cord (I used #20, 1mm thickness) (If you prefer more color, this multi-color hemp pack is perfect)
- 3 – 6 mm Lava Beads (If you want to use a variety of colors, I suggest this multicolor pack of round lava beads)
- Essential oil
Directions
Step 1
Cut 3 strands of hemp cord into 12 inch lengths.
Step 2
Add one bead to one of the cords and push it to the center of the cord.
Step 3
Line the other two cords up on either side of the cord with the bead. Make sure that the ends of all of the cords are even.
Grab the 3 cords together in your hand and make one knot where the bead is.
Step 4
Keeping the other two cords at either side of the cord with the bead, make another knot at the other end of the bead.
Step 5
Add another bead to the middle cord.
Repeat step 4.
Step 6
Add another bead to the middle cord.
Repeat step 4.
Step 7
Make a knot about two inches past the last knot, on each end.
To put the bracelet on, wrap it over your wrist and then tie the ends together in a knot.
To add essential oils to the lava beads, add 1-3 drops of essential oil on each bead and let soak in.

How long do you let the lava beads soak in the essential oil? Or is the whole bracelet that you put in the oil?? Very cute idea!!

Thank you, Michelle! You will add drops of essential oil directly to the bead and allow to soak in. You will only need 1-3 drops per bead. I've updated the instructions with this detail.

You don't show the back of the bracelet! Is it just a knot! What about the infusion?

Yes, just tie the back of the bracelet in a regular knot to secure. Add 1-3 drops of essential oil to each lava bead and allow to sink in (will be really quickly). No need to soak the beads in essential oils unless you want to, but that would use a lot of oil!
