How to Make Jack Skellington Oreo Balls

A printable recipe card is located at the end of this article.

Makes 20 small cookie balls.

Ingredients

Directions

Step 1

Place oreos in a food processor and pulse until the Oreos become fine crumbs.

If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the Oreos in a large zip top plastic bag and use a rolling pin to roll over them and crush them into smaller pieces.

Step 2

Add softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and blend until a soft dough is formed.

Step 3

Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Firming up the dough will make it easier to form the balls.

Step 4

Roll the mixture into equal sized balls. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Place the pan in the freezer for 15 minutes, or until firm.

Step 5

Pour the entire bag of white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Then microwave in 20 second increments until all candy pieces are melted.

Stir in between the heating increments. Be sure not to overcook!

Step 6

Place the chilled Oreo balls on a toothpick. Then dip the ball in the melted candy until fully coated.

Let the excess drip off back into the bowl.

Remove the toothpick out of each ball before the candy hardens.

If you would like, cover the holes left by the toothpicks using the remaining melted chocolate.

If the white candy starts to become too thick, put the bowl back in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to thin out again.

If the cookie balls become too soft while sitting out during the coating process, you can place them back in the freezer or refrigerator for a few minutes until they are firm again.

Step 7

Once all of the cookie balls are coated, let them sit for about 5 minutes until the candy has hardened. You can leave them on the baking sheet or transfer them to a cooling rack.

Step 8

Using the black gel, put two dots of coloring on each ball to be eyes.

Use only a small amount for the eyes and then spread out using a toothpick. If you try to make the big eyes with a big dot of gel coloring, it will run and become messy.

Step 9

Next, draw a smile with the black coloring gel. Using a toothpick, pull the gel in opposite directions up and down the smile.

There is no perfect way to do this, so don’t worry! The creepier it is, the better!
