Our beautiful crochet cross bookmark pattern is easy to make with our free pattern.

We used a multiple-color yarn to stitch a pretty cross bookmark. You could choose a single-color yarn, as well.
This gorgeous cross bookmark is perfect for Easter gifts, baptisms, christenings, a gift of encouragement, or added to Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.

How to Crochet a Cross Bookmark
Cross
Step 1:
Start with a Magic Ring.
Round 1
Step 1:
Chain 3
Step 2:
Work 2 Double Crochets in Magic Ring, Chain 2

Step 3:
(3 Double Crochets, Chain 2) * repeat 6 times.
Step 4:
Slip Stitch in 3rd Chain from start, Pull the tail tight to close the Magic Ring.
Round 2
Step 1:
Chain 3.
Step 2:
Work (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets) in next Chain-2 space.
Step 3:
Work 1 Treble Crochet in next Chain-2 space.
Step 4:
Chain 3, Turn the work back
Step 5:
Work (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets) in middle Chain-2 space.
Step 6:
Work 1 Treble Crochet in 3rd Chain of previous set.
Step 7:
Chain 3, Turn the work back.
Step 8:
Work (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets) in middle Chain-2 space.
Step 9:
Work 1 Treble Crochet in 3rd Chain of previous set.
Step 10:
Repeat from Step 7 to Step 9.
Step 11:
Chain 1, Cut the yarn by leaving a little tail.
Step 12:
Join the yarn again in same Chain-2 space as shown and Chain 3.
Step 13:
Repeat from Step 2 to Step 11 to create 2 more beams.
Step 14:
Repeat from Step 2 to Step 11 to work the last beam and continue the pattern to create 4 more sets.
Round 3
Step 1:
Join the yarn as shown in the picture.
Step 2:
Work 1 Single crochet in each of next 3 stitches starting from the base stitch of join.
Step 3:
Work 3 Single Crochets in chain-2 space.
Step 4:
Work 1 Single Crochet in each of next 3 stitches.
Step 5:
Work 4 Single Crochets in each chain spaces around to complete the outline.
Step 6:
Slip Stitch in 1st Single Crochet to join the round and fasten off.
Book Mark Strap
Step 1:
Start with a Magic Ring.
Step 2:
Chain 1.
Step 3:
Work (1 Half Double Crochet, 1 Double Crochet, 1 Half Double Crochet) * Repeat pattern 3 times.
Step 4:
Slip Stitch in 1st Single Crochet to join the round.
Step 5:
Chain 30.
Step 6:
Join the strap on top of the cross with a Slip Stitch.
Step 7:
Work 3 Slip Stitches to secure the strap and cut the yarn off by leaving a little tail.
Step 8:
Hide all the yarn ends using the yarn needle.
