Ingredients

  • Jell-O Strawberry Jello gives the best color, but you could also use cherry or black cherry.
  • Vodka Any type of vodka will work. You can also choose a flavored vodka, but make sure it will pair well with the strawberry flavored-Jello.
  • Plastic Syringes While not a food ingredient, this supply is necessary for syringe Jello shots! You can easily get inexpensive plastic syringes on Amazon, from small amounts to jumbo party packs. Any extra syringes can be used with our Graveyard Muddy Buddies.

How to Make Syringe Jell-o Shots

A bottle of Smirnoff vodka, a box of strawberry Jell-O, plastic syringes for syringe jello shots, a mixing bowl, and a red spatula are arranged on a black surface.

Add the Jell-o mix and the boiling water into a medium mixing bowl. Stir until the Jell-o is fully dissolved – you don’t want any lumps!

Water being poured into a glass bowl containing red powder and granules, likely for mixing a drink or preparing syringe jello shots for a fun party treat.

Add in the vodka and stir together.

Push the stopper in the plastic syringes to the bottom. Then insert the plastic syringe into the liquid and slowly pull back the stopper to fill the syringe. Fill it just past the 1-ounce point.

Note: Do not put the tip of the syringe on the bottom of the bowl because it will get gunky and not look nice!

A clear syringe filled with red liquid rests on the rim of a glass bowl containing more red syrup, suggesting fun syringe jello shots ready to be enjoyed.

Turn the syringe upside down so that the tip is in the air. Give the syringe a flick with your finger so that the air bubbles go to the tip. Then slowly press the plunger of the syringe until all the air has escaped and the jello is flush with the tip.

Place the end cap on the syringe and store them with the cap down in a cup, large bowl, etc.

Chill for 2 hours or until set before serving.

Notes

  • You can make these in advance and store them, with the caps on, in the fridge, for up to 4 days before serving. Do not freeze
  • You want to keep the Jello thin enough so that when it sets up, it will not be super hard to squirt the shot into your mouth. If you want them even thinner than the recipe, you can add a bit more vodka, but don’t add too much or they won’t set up at all.
  • Flavored vodka can be used, just make sure the flavors pair well with the Jell-O flavor.
