These easy Halloween sandwiches look like tombstones in a graveyard. Add these spooky sandwiches to your party buffet or surprise the kids with tombstone sandwiches in their lunchbox.
We love these snack-size treats because they are healthier than most foods you will find during Halloween celebrations, such as candy and dessert. Plus, they are a sneaky way to get kids and adults to eat more greens!
While we used a simple garlic cream cheese spread with veggies, you could also substitute a tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad or slices of meat and cheese for a more filling bite-size food.
This recipe is perfect to use with the small loaves of dark bread, such as pumpernickel, that is often found in the deli section at the supermarket. These party-size bread slices are small and convenient for these graveyard sandwiches.
However, you can also use regular-size slices of bread. You may want to cut off the crusts with a knife, or use a cookie cutter to cut out the shapes.

Notes
- These sandwiches can be made ahead, but the bread will start drying out. We suggest only making these 3-4 hours ahead of time.
- Any tea sandwich filling, such as tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad or slices of meat and cheese, can be substituted for the cream cheese spread.
