Our easy Caramel Apple Fudge recipe is perfect in autumn when you are picking apples off the trees or looking for easy treats for Halloween parties.

This fudge not only combines the flavors of caramel and apple, it also has green and brown color swirls to look like a caramel apple on a stick.

Squares of green and tan caramel apple fudge are stacked on a board, surrounded by sliced green apples and baking wafers, with a crate of whole green apples in the background.

Make a batch of this fudge to bring along to the orchards while picking fruit. It is also a quick-selling treat at bake sales, and both kids and adults love this fudge at Halloween!

Ingredients

Using candy melts makes this recipe quick, easy and colorful. You will want to use green candy melts and salted caramel candy melts for this color combination.

Flat lay of ingredients for caramel apple fudge, including sweetened condensed milk, green apple flavoring, green and salted caramel candy melts, apple slices, and a plaid cloth on a marble surface.

For the tart, sweet taste of this fudge, you definitely want to use green apple candy flavoring. I like the LorAnn brand, but you could use whatever you’d like.

Do not use regular caramels or caramel candy as a substitution for caramel candy melts. It just won’t work right.

How to Make Caramel Apple Fudge

Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper.

Place the caramel melts in a medium mixing bowl and place the green melts in another bowl.

Pour sweetened condensed milk over the top of the caramel melts.

White melted chocolate is poured over caramel candy melts in a glass mixing bowl, creating the perfect base for caramel apple fudge, with sliced green apples visible nearby.

Combine the candy flavoring and the second can of sweetened condensed milk and stir together well. Then pour over the top of the green candy melts.

Sweetened condensed milk is poured onto green candy melts in a glass bowl, with apple slices and caramel pieces nearby—perfect for making delicious caramel apple fudge.

Microwave each bowl for 2 ½ minutes or until the mixture turns smooth when stirred. Do this one bowl at a time. Be sure to stop every minute to stir the mixture. This allows the ingredients to not overcook.

Pour each of the melted mixtures into the pan, alternating each color and pouring at random so that it swirls as you add the colors. You can also swirl the colors together with a knife or spatula after all of the melts have been poured into the pan.

Place in the fridge for 4 hours or until fully set.

Notes

  • This recipe makes 32 pieces that are 1/2 inch in size. If you want larger pieces, there will be less servings.
  • Do NOT use nonstick spray on the pan instead of parchment paper. It just won’t work.
  • Either salted caramel or regular caramel candy melts will work, just don’t use actual caramel pieces.
  • You can use a smaller or larger pan, but the thickness and serving sizes will vary. Smaller pans will take longer to set, while larger pans will take less time to set.
  • Once the fudge is in the refrigerator and setting, don’t move it or it will make the top of the fudge look wrinkled.
  • This fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • If you freeze the fudge, allow to soften and come to room temperature before eating, otherwise it will be too hard.
