Instructions for Amigurumi Ghost

Step 1

Make a magic knot. Work 1 chain on hook.

Step 2

Work a single crochet (SC) into the magic ring. Repeat 5 more SC into the magic ring (we need a total of 6 SC through the magic ring). This is round 1.

Step 3

Make a slip stitch into the very first chain to end this round. Chain 1 on the hook.

Step 4

Work 2 SC into every chain stitch of the previous round. We should have a total of 12 SC in this round. This is round 2.

Step 5

Make a slip stitch into the very first chain. Then chain 1.

Step 6

Work 1 SC into the next stitch.

Step 7

Then 2 SC (increase) into the next same stitch.

Step 8

Repeat the steps 6 and 7 for this round. We should have a total of 18 SC in this round. This is round 3.

Step 9

Make a slip stitch into the very first chain to end this round. Chain 1 on the hook.

Step 10

Work 3 SC into the next 3 stitches and 2 SC (increase) into the next stitch of this round. Repeat this pattern for this round. We should have a total of 24 SC. This is round 4.

Step 11

Repeat the pattern of step (12) 8 times to increase the height of the amigurumi ghost. The times you can repeat the pattern would depend on your choice. The more rounds, the taller the ghost would be.

Step 12

Work 24 SC around for the next 2 rounds.

Step 13

For the next rounds, work only on front loops. Work SC, Double Crochet (DC), and SC in the same stitch, then work a slip stitch into the next stitch. Repeat this pattern 8 more times. Join last stitch to first stitch with a reverse slip stitch.

Step 14

For the next rounds, work only on back loops. Work SC, SCDEC (decrease) 4 times.

Step 15

Stuff the amigurumi ghost through the bottom opening. Keep the stuffing nice and fluffy.

Step 16

Work SC, SCDEC 6 times to decrease the stitch count to 12.

Step 17

Work SC, SCDEC 6 times again for the next round to decrease the stitch count to 6. Pull the loose end of the yarn to close the bottom end.

Step 18

Working back loops, draw the yarn towards the bottom border by using the hook.

Step 19

Work SC, Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), DC, HDC, and SC to make a scalloped pattern.

Step 20

Repeat the pattern all around the bottom edge. Work a slip stitch to secure this round.

Use a tapestry needle to secure the remaining end of the yarn through the pattern.

Step 21

Add eyes, blush, and other details from felt cutouts. We used hot glue to attach the felt cutouts.
