Red and pink layered fudge is perfect for Valentine’s Day celebrations, especially when you add the sweet taste of strawberries to this easy holiday fudge recipe that can be made in less than 15 minutes!
Strawberry Fudge Recipe
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Chill Time: 2 Hours
Yields: 16 1-Inch Pieces
Ingredients
- 1 Container Buttercream Frosting (16 ounces)
- ¾ Cup Red Candy Melts
- ¾ Cup Strawberry Flavored Pink Candy Melts (plain pink candy melts will also work, too)
- 1 Teaspoon Strawberry Extract
- Valentine’s Mix Non-Pareils Sprinkles
Directions
Place the red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high, in the microwave, for 2-3 minutes or until smooth when stirred. Stop every 15-30 seconds to stir during the melting process to ensure the candy melts do not start to burn.
Repeat step one with the pink candy melts, keeping the two colors separated.
Remove the lid and completely remove all metal film from the frosting and place it in the microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute, or until fully melted and smooth.
Add the extract to the frosting and stir well.
*Do not add the extract directly to the chocolate or it will ruin it! The extract seizes the chocolate to a point that it is no longer usable.
Place half of the frosting in with the red candy melts and the other half with the pink candy melts.
Stir each color until they are fully mixed.
Line an 8 X 8 pan with parchment paper, making sure to leave some overhang.
Alternate pouring in the two colors in random spots, pausing to tap the pan in between so it evens out and removes bubbles.
Once all of your chocolate mixtures have been poured in and they are even, sprinkle the top of the fudge with as many Valentine’s themed non-pareils as you like.
Place in the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours or until hardened.
Using a sharp knife, slice the fudge into 1-inch pieces.
This holiday fudge looks especially nice packaged in a Valentine’s Day gift box or gift tin from the dollar store!

Helpful Tips
- Store fudge in a sealed container in the fridge for up to two weeks or in a cool, dry spot for up to 1 week.
- You can freeze fudge in a sealed container for up to 3 months.
- If you can’t use candy melts, you can use white chocolate chips and color the chocolate with an oil-based food dye. Do not use water-based dye because it will ruin the chocolate.
- If you can’t find strawberry candy melts, no problem. The extract still adds plenty of flavor. You can just use normal pink candy melts instead.
- Hard fudge usually means that too much chocolate was used. Just reduce the amount next time you make the recipe.
- Soft fudge (too soft) means that not enough chocolate was used. Adjust the amount the next time you make the recipe.
- To flatten the top of the fudge and make it smooth, tap the pan on the counter to make the mixture settle evenly.
