Ingredients
Method
- Add all of the ingredients into the crockpot.
- Stir together until the sugar dissolves.
- Cook on low for about 2 hours or until steaming. You can allow it to simmer longer in the crock pot if needed.
- Strain the spices and fruit out of the cider, either using a slotted spoon or a mesh strainer.
- If desired, add apple or orange slices to the crockpot cider or individual mugs of cider before serving.
Notes
- This hot cider can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, add it back to a slow cooker and allow to simmer until warm.
- You DO want to use whole spices because there is more flavor in the whole spice. Also, it keeps your cider from having clumps of powdered cinnamon or cloves floating around and clouding up the beverage.
- This beverage can be served cold after cooking it. Either serve over ice or put in the refrigerator to cool.
- Adding alcohol, such as rum, makes this a boozy adult beverage.
